Jakarta, September 18, 2025 – The Indonesia national futsal team secured a dominant 7-1 victory over Tanzania in the Aqua Futsal Four Nations Cup 2025 at GBK Basket Hall, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (18/9).
Indonesia’s seven goals came from Mochammad Iqbal (1’), Firman Adriansyah (10’, 16’), Syauqi Sa’ud (19’), Guntur Sulistyo A. (20’), and Holypaul Septinus N. S. (24’, 33’). Tanzania’s only goal was scored by Abalkassim Suleiman H. in the 31st minute.
Indonesia Head Coach, Hector Sauto Vazquez, welcomed the result but stressed the importance of continuous improvement.
“I hope we can fix our overall mistakes during the match and perform even better in the next game,” he said.
Indonesia player, Ardiansyah Nur, expressed his gratitude for the team’s victory while acknowledging areas to improve.
“We are grateful for today’s match, but there are still many shortcomings to fix. Hopefully, in the next game we can do better and show our best performance as representatives of the national team,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Tanzania Head Coach, Curtis Darrel Reid, admitted the hosts’ superiority while highlighting his team’s defensive issues.
“I’m pleased because there were some aspects where I saw us play very well. But we still need to fix the defensive mistakes we made,” he said.
This victory served as an important boost for Indonesia heading into the next stage of the Aqua Futsal Four Nations Cup 2025.
The Garuda futsal tournament atmosphere was further enlivened by a performance from singer Fabio Asher before the match, along with other music entertainment and a Fanzone filled with games, merchandise, and culinary delights—making it a festive sporting event.
