Jakarta, September 21, 2025 – Latvia emerged as the champion of the Aqua Futsal Four Nations Cup 2025 after defeating Indonesia 3-2 in the final match held at GBK Basket Hall, Central Jakarta, on Sunday night (21/9).
Latvia’s goals were scored by Viktors Kulepovs (13’, 33’) and Edgars Tarakanovs (22’), while Indonesia responded through Israr Megantara (15’) and Guntur Sulistyo (40’).
Indonesia Head Coach, Hector Sauto, described the match as a different kind of experience. “This was a very good game, one where you don’t always win and win. This game was a different situation for us.”
Indonesia Captain, Mochammad Iqbal Rahmatullah, emphasized the importance of details during play. “Small details are very decisive in a game. Hopefully, we can all improve even more.”
Latvia Head Coach, Massimiliano Bellarte, said, “What we need to do now is to stay consistent with what we already have. I am very happy to be here and to compete with such great teams.”
Latvian player, Edgards Tarakanovs, praised Indonesia as a strong opponent. “It was a good match, I think we played well in both the first and second halves. Indonesia is a very good team. For us, this has been the best tournament so far.”
Previously, Latvia swept victories over Tanzania (3-0), the Netherlands (3-2), and Indonesia (3-2), which secured them the championship title. Indonesia finished as runner-up, followed by the Netherlands in third place and Tanzania in fourth.
